PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

Are you ready to help application development teams move the security needle? The person filling this role will work to create meaningful partnerships between the security experts at SAP SuccessFactors and the SAP global security teams implementing our security standards in their code and development practices. Youll be asked to lead efforts developing new security guidelines and architectures and assist development teams in adopting and implementing these new guidelines. The ideal candidate is one who has a strong background in development but has a desire to change focus to the big picture.

 

Within our team, we practice a trust-based working model. If you need to work flexibly from another location or at another time you can do so given your managers agreement.


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

In the first 12 months you will:

  • Contribute to the larger SAP security community:  As part of the team you will be involved in the development of application security architecture and building partnerships with other security teams from around the corporation.
  • Create usable guides and demonstrations: Lead by example. Create actionable demonstrations of security concepts and the guides explaining their use.
  • Create a vision: As the security landscape changes, youll help SAP SuccessFactors remain ahead of the curve and ready for the standards and regulations to come.

 

In order to accomplish this, you will need to:

  • Build relationships with and understand the needs of SAP SuccessFactors Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Build relationships with corporate Identity Management, Compliance, and Security Management teams.
  • Work with a spirit of collaboration yet possess the ability to influence where needed.
  • Have a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a lack of fear for learning something new. You should be open to learn from others and also willing to help mentor and teach.
  • Be creative and resourceful, create solutions where they do not already exist.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong understanding of federation technologies; SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect
  • Strong understanding of encryption and cryptography, management and use of x509 certificates
  • Experience with securing public web interfaces (like HTML, SOAP, and REST)
  • Experience with directory technologies like LDAP and Active Directory
  • Familiar with containerization services and the concepts of the service mesh
  • Excellent communication and writing skills

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years industry experience working in a software development environment
  • Experience with building and deploying applications in the Cloud
  • Experience working in an agile environment, DevOps, and the alignment with corporate SDLCs
