Northrop Grumman is seeking a Specialty Engineering Manager responsible for providing direct supervision/management of a team of 10 - 15 Specialty engineers. This position requires management, development, and implementation for infrared satellite ground systems for missile warning/defense and technical intelligence programs. This position is a mix of approximately 85 percent direct contract work and 15 percent functional management, and requires knowledge of all phases of Specialty engineering development, including requirements, analysis, design, Human Factors, Ground System Training Development, and functions related to system supportability and Logistics in support of OPIR and Missile Defense Systems. Management activities include review of business needs, assignment of staff to programs, identification of hiring needs, and the professional development of assigned staff. Applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to create and d eliver presentations to technical and managerial audiences.

This position is located in Boulder, CO, and includes:

- Leadership of Specialty Engineering team in accordance with management policy and guidance

- Training, guidance and performance management of Specialty & Multi-disciplined engineers

- Making decisions needed for accomplishment of team goals

- Interfacing with customers, program management and cross-functional technical staff

- Cost and schedule management

- Problem resolution and improvement recommendations

- Generation of applicable documentation

- Travel to NG and Government locations within U.S.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree and minimum nine (9) years of relevant engineering work experience

- DoD Top Secret clearance that is or has been active with in the last two years with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

- Problem identification, resolution, and improvement recommendations experience

- Ability to travel to NG and government facilities for work assignments (approximately 25% of the time)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering or scientific discipline

- Three to five years of engineering management experience

- Ground Specialty experience in mission processing, ground communications or space operations

- Active Top Secret Clearance with SSBI - Seven (7) years of experience with Space-Based InfraRed System (SBIRS), Defense Support Program (DSP), Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) OPIR, and/or Missile Defense Agency (MD A) program Specialty

- 1+ years of Cost Account Management (CAM) experience

- Advanced level of technical understanding and demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of OPIR Specialty

Salary Range: $140,536.00 - $210,804.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
