C-SPAN is seeking a Marketing Content Writer to write and edit compelling content that promotes C-SPAN’s products and services and fulfills corporate needs. The Content Writer will ensure that language is parallel across all formats and consistent with C-SPAN's Style Guide. Promotional copy should be written so as to engage across a variety of key audiences including consumers, educators and other targeted audiences and be optimized for different platforms and for SEO discoverability. The Content Writer will need strong communications to assimilate information from teams across the company and then compose copy for multimedia promotions for topical content. The candidate should be experienced in writing copy for traditional and digital advertising including social media ads, craft, distribute and manage newsletters, and be able to write and edit scripts for TV and radio spots all in a timely manner.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or Advertising with a minimum of three years' related experience. Must demonstrate strong knowledge of current events and politics, excellent proficiency in writing and copyediting and the ability to create content. Also exercise good editorial judgement and possess excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and experience in ad placement is a plus.
